Nienhiser First Repeat Winner of 2015 with MOWA!
After a few solid weeks of racing, including an impressive charge into the top 7 in Farmington, MO with the National Sprint League before a late caution didn't work out, resulting in an 11th place finish, after starting 21st, Paul Nienhiser became the first driver to repeat with the Midwest Open Wheel Association in 2015! Then Mother Nature has pretty much been victorious over the last few weeks. Another impressive run came on June 13th in Flora, IL, as Paul started 23rd in the feature, needing a solid run to save his points lead with the MOWA sprints. He put on an impressive charge into the 8th position just 15 laps into the main event, looking like he could charge to the front of the field before rain came, and the promoters were forced to call the race.
Last night, the team made the shorter trip to Lincoln, IL for another Round of the MOWA Sprint Car Series. Paul started his heat race in 3rd, and pulled off a win to lock himself into the dash, starting 3rd in the dash as well, Paul again would charge to the lead, using the very outside rim of the track to build up some serious momentum. His dash win set him on pole for the feature, and a very good mid-race battle with Brad Loyet and NASCAR driver Christopher Bell kept the fans on the edge of their seats. Paul lost the lead at one point but drove back past the leader and became the first driver to repeat this season with MOWA! All the while extending his points lead going into MOWA sprint week later this month.
