Nienhiser and Caleb Wankel Victorious at 34 Raceway
PETERSEN MEDIA: Waiting to see where Mother Nature would allow him to race over the weekend, Paul Nienhiser returned to the seat of the Caleb Wankel owned 305ci Winged Sprint Car on Saturday night at 34 Raceway and picked up his second win of the season.
“It got a little crazy with our plans with rain cancelling so many different races around the area,” Nienhiser said. “Caleb Wankel got his engine back Friday morning, and really wanted to race and it definitely paid off for us.”
Following some trailer issues that ultimately saw the team utilize the Paul Nienhiser Racing transporter, and check in at the speedway just in time. With a big Late Model race taking center stage, a packed house would see the Chapin, IL driver shine on this night.
Drawing the second row for heat race action, Nienhiser would look sporty in the his first laps in the No. 5 machine on this night as he raced his way to second and earned a berth in the 10-car redraw for the feature.
Pulling the five, Nienhiser would grid the field from the third row with $1000 up for grabs on this night. On a slick, wide surface on this night from the late model action, Nienhiser would use every inch of real estate to work his way up into second.
Using a restart, Nienhiser would use the top of three and four to sail around the leader and take over the top spot in the race. Once out in front, Nienhiser would dip back to the low groove where he would hit his marks.
Running strong out front, Nienhiser would not be challenged on this night, as he would race his way to his second feature event win of the season.
“It was a fun night of racing,” Nienhiser said. “World of Outlaws star, Gravy Fairfield was home for the weekend and he came out and helped as did Alan Devlin, and we really had a blast.”
Nienhiser would like to thank CAM2 Blue Blood Racing Oil, Mason Sound, Innovative Design, Bradshaw Custom Pumping, Wessler Bros. Agency, Bob Hawks Auto Body, Littleton Storm & Timber, Fierce Herbicide, Sunstoppers Window Tinting, Engler Machine and Tool, FK Indy, Rider Racing Engines, Kaeding Performance, Smith Titanium Products, Vortex Wings, Signs and Design, and Team Simpson for their continued support.
2019 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-5, Wins-2, Top 5’s-2, Top 10’s-4
ON TAP: Nienhiser will battle with the World of Outlaws this weekend as he will be at Lake Ozarks Speedway on Friday, I 55 Speedway on Saturday, and Jacksonville Speedway on Sunday.
